So what does Shelley think of Turkey?
I started to go to Turkey with my family when I was 6. Since then I've been so many times I'm not sure how many!
The main resort I tend to visit is Kusadasi, which is a very lively resort. It is popular with families, couples and young groups alike due to the many shops, bars and restaurants on offer. There is alot to do without leaving the resort; including 2 large waterparks, a trip to Ephesus to see the ruins, House of the Virgin Mary (which is meant to be where Mary spent her final days), Horse Safaris, Turkish baths plus much more...!
I have also visited bodrum, which is similar to Kusadasi as they are both lively and have a 'bar street' and plenty of opportunities to shop for bargains! I haven't visited Marmaris, but from what I've heard I would expect to find the same in this resort.
I have spent a few days in Istanbul, which is rich in culture and has many mosques (including the famous 'Blue Mosque') and historical sites to visit. It's a large city, popular with tourists and attracting customers looking for a busy, sight-seeing holiday.
A very popular excursion in Turkey is a trip to Pammukale (white calcium rock pools). Known as 'One of the Wonders of the World', this attracts many visitors every year. I visited Pamukkale a few years ago and it's not possible to imagine what the place looks like from a magazine or a postcard - you just need to go there and see it for yourself!
I would recommend that during your stay in Turkey, you experience a Turkish night. This usually includes a belly dancer/ show and a meal and is a really enjoyable night.
