So what does Joanne think of Tenerife?
I first went to Tenerife when I was 14 years old and enjoyed it so much we have been back 6 times. Tenerife has something that suits everyone from families, couples, young groups or the young at heart, even people who enjoy surfing as they have surfing competitions every year.
Tenerife is split into two parts - the North and South, the north is a lot quieter and a lot cooler than the south.
Playa De Las Americas is the main resort for young groups as it has many nightclubs, but this resort also suits families and couples.
Los Cristianos is a quieter resort with fabulous beaches (Playa De Las Americas has a volcanic beach which is black sands and Los Cristianos has man made beaches). There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to suit everyone's tastes. They even have an English fish & chip shop if you're missing home!!! Also in Los Cristianos they have a massive shopping complex.
Must Do's- Aqua land Costa Adeje - Fantastic for a fun day out!! There is a dolphinarium where you can watch the dolphin show twice a day.
- Las Aguilas Jungle Park - Lots of things to do, watch parrot shows to penguin feedings.
- Loro Parque - Great place to see all wildlife, over 20,000 marine animals!!
- Mount Teide - Great to get up close to a volcanic mountain which lies 2000 metres above sea level!!!
Handy Hint:
As with most tourist destinations these days, you will get a fair share of people on the streets trying to sell you things, just be polite and walk away.
