Costa Blanca attractions

Beaches in Costa Blanca

Benidorm boasts some amazing beaches with fine white sands stretching over 5km around the east coast. Playa de Levante is the main beach, which has a wide selection of shops and cafes running alongside.  Then there is Playa de Poniente, by the old town centre which is smaller and tends to be quieter.  Also, Mal Pas, a small sandy cove which is the departure point for many boat trips.  All three beaches have the Blue Flag Award.

The beaches in Benidorm offer a good range of water sports including jet-skiing, water-skiing, scuba-diving and parasailing.

Eating Out

Eating out in Costa Blanca is a pleasure.  There is plenty of choice between bars, cafes and restaurants offering a wide range of cuisines from English to German, Chinese and of course Spanish. Naturally Seafood is extremely popular in the local cuisine, as well as rice dishes, tapas and lots of fresh vegetables.

Nightlife

In the Costa Blanca, nightlife can be as leisurely, low-key or lively as you wish. Recognised as one of the Mediterranean’s top nightspots, you’ll find hundreds of bars and cafes throughout the region. The discos and cabarets, clubs and pubs are all popular, while live music ranges from salsa and jazz to flamenco.

Away from the bustling resorts, a number of small, intimate village retreats offer traditional home-cooking and locally produced wine. Visit the region’s wealth of tapas bars for a true taste of Spanish flavours.

Shopping

If shopping is your thing, then Benidorm certainly offers plenty to keep you occupied, from quaint local markets to designer shopping malls.

The narrow streets of the old town are crammed full of charming souvenir shops and tiny boutiques where you can browse to your hearts content before moving on to the busy shopping area of the modern resort.

Then there is the weekly market, overflowing with bargains on locally produced crafts such as lace, pottery and leather.

If all of this is still not enough and you are craving some designer labels take a trip to Finestrat on the outskirts of Benidorm where you’ll find La Marina Shopping Mall.
